Irlam Endowed Primary School

Personal Development

What is our Personal Development Offer?

Our Personal Development Offer is the overarching, nurturing and vibrant development of each child at Irlam Endowed Primary School.

It is embedded in our school motto, ‘Fulfilling our Potential’, and our philosophy and our four Core Values.

At Irlam Endowed, collaborative, respectful and positive relationships are at the heart of our school community. Unique and meaningful learning experiences empower children to become resilient, responsible and kind members of the local community. Diversity is embraced into the school’s culture and everyone is welcome.’

Respect, Kindness, Resilience and Diversity’

Personal Development runs throughout our Curriculum and Enrichment Pathway Offers.  It is embedded in our Awareness Events that run throughout the school year.

For each child, we focus on consolidating and deepening children’s existing knowledge of the world and skills as a citizen so they are ready for future opportunities. We want all our children to have high aspirations, to learn how to thrive with their own unique pathway and to be ready for new transitions. Our children are taught to be empowered and resilient, for them to become positive, respectful and active citizens in the local community and to succeed in the wider world.

We believe that every child has equal opportunities to succeed.

Our children learn to be responsible for themselves and others, developing personal traits that will embolden them to be part of a wide and diverse community. Our aim is to teach children how to navigate through life safely, happily and healthily. We teach children about the world around them, relationships, emotions, reproduction and health, as well as transferable life skills.  We consistently promote the fundamental British values and to be tolerant with unbiased views.

Irlam Endowed Primary School is a fully inclusive, safe and nurturing environment where everyone is welcome.

We promote, through our curriculum, enrichment activities and core beliefs that we are a community in which any individual can learn, thrive, feel safe, feel respected, be unique, be listened to, be imaginative, be proud and feel confident.

Every child is a whole person.
